Our Gamecock Family: Major Accomplishments

What an exciting week we have had. There have been a lot of accomplishments. Some I am proud of and some Cory and Rafe are proud of. First, Stella Ross now puts herself to sleep every night. This may not seem like a big deal to most, but Rafe NEVER did this until he was about 8-9 months old. He always needed to be rocked or "patted", but never just put to bed. Stella Ross, on the other hand, is not a big fan of the rocking chair when she is ready to go to sleep. I really have a hard time with this since I LOVE to cuddle, but we just get our cuddle time in at other times of the day. This week we have started giving her a bath after she eats in the evening and then putting her in her crib. She LOVES all of the paintings on her wall and she just stares at it while listening to her music and after about 10 minutes she is GONE! I just don't know what to think about this, but I know I am VERY proud of her. What a big deal this is!!

Cory and Rafe also had a huge accomplishment this week. They have been playing New Super Mario Bros. on the Wii since Rafe got it for Christmas. Cory and Rafe play this together nightly before bed. Some of the levels were VERY intense for them, but after 10 short weeks of playing the game they finally beat it this week. Words cannot express how excited they were! Of course Cory immediately grabbed the camera to capture all of the images to "prove" they had won. Cory will take pictures of a video game, but how many pictures of me with our kids have you ever seen??!!

On a side note, Stella Ross went to the doctor for her 2 month check-up last week. I had been dreading this appointment since she was born thinking about all of the shots. She did fantastic with them, I did not! She weighed 12 lbs. 7 oz. and was 23 1/2 inches long. What a chunky baby she is turning into!
