Swimming Buddies!

6 month photo shoot!

I took Stella Ross on Friday to have her 6 month pictures made, but I needed to do some at home of course!!

One down - one to go!

My BABY has lost his first tooth, and, yes, I cried! It really hit me when Rafe lost his tooth that he is growing up WAY too fast! I don't need to mention how extremely excited he was when it finally FELL out into Gram's hand. It was only hanging by one root! He has been waiting a long time to put his special pirate tooth holder under his pillow for the tooth fairy. She came in a big way and it looks like she will be coming again very soon. YAY Rafe! You are even cuter than ever now!

6 Months!

Today is my precious Stella Ross's 6 month birthday. I have been so sad about this milestone. Cannot believe half of her first year is already over. She has changed so much since that wonderful Christmas morning. Words cannot describe how much joy and laughter she brings to our family. I am so honored God chose me to be her mother.

This past month has been a big one for Stella Ross. She is now eating 3 solid meals a day. Her favorite foods are sweet peas and bananas. She loves to roll ALL over the place. I really don't remember Rafe being this active at such an early age. Uh oh! We might be in for it. Her lastest accomplishment is being able to sit up all by herself. This is SO nice especially on the beach. She could really get into that sand!! She still completely adores Rafe. She can just catch a glimpse of him and immediately get the biggest smile on her face. It just melts my heart to see the two of them interact!

Thank you, God, for this precious miracle. I look forward to the next 6 months, but I wish it would slow down just a little bit!

Rafe woke Stella Ross up from her nap this week and this is how he found her. He screamed for me to go get my camera. SO cute!!

Charleston Fun!

Stella Ross had her first road trip this week and did FANTASTIC. We had the best time in Charleston seeing some of our best friends and taking in the beach. Stella Ross LOVES the ocean and of course enjoyed eating all of the yummy sand. Rafe was reunited with his "girlfriend" Caroline and enjoyed getting love from two beautiful Fortney girls, Caroline and her sister Susanna. It had been almost a year since we had seen them so it was WAY past time. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful Susanna and Caroline with Rafe

The whole crew. Little Charlotte and Stella Ross
are a week apart. Wish we lived closer still so
they could play together.

Out With The Old, In With The New!

The tooth fairy is going to be making a visit to our house any day now. Rafe has TWO loose teeth and one that is about to fall out! It's funny, Stella Ross cut two teeth this month and Rafe is about to lose two. He cannot keep his fingers out of his mouth. He wriggles it so much and tells me all the time his teeth are "popping". I told him that the roots were coming loose and he said, "Is there dirt in my mouth? You keep telling me there are roots under my teeth, is there dirt down there, too?"

One More Bite Please

Stella Ross had her first taste of a cheese puff last night. Big brother is already teaching her bad habits!!

Don't you just LOVE her orange lipstick!

Ta Da!

Stella Ross decided before bed tonight that she wanted to sit up all by herself. She was SO excited when she realized what she was doing. Of course I HAD to grab the camera! My baby is growing up TOO fast!

Chunky Monkey!

I want you to just look at those legs! I love them! I told Rafe I believe Stella Ross's legs are bigger around at the top than his! Hard to believe Rafe's used to look like this!

Stella Ross ate supper in her "big girl" seat last night and thought she was HOT stuff! She was so proud and I was too.

First time for everything!

Stella Ross had a big weekend. She went swimming for the first time and proved to be a little fish just like her brother. Personally I thought the water was WAY too cold to be swimming in, but Stella Ross kicked and played like she was in the bath tub. I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time in the pool!

Stella Ross also got her first taste of bananas this weekend and loves them. She starts shaking and jumping when she sees her mesh feeder coming. Now she looks for it after each meal! So cute!

See Rafe Go!!

Let me brag for just a second on my sweet boy! Rafe finished reading his first book tonight and I couldn't be more proud of him. (he's pretty proud of himself, too) Lately Rafe has really taken an interest in reading and the school-teacher in me jumped ALL over it! I pulled out some books I used with my students and starting working with Rafe. He gets so excited every time we read with them and will even sit and read by himself instead of playing. AHHH!! I love it. So we have been reading the Dick and Jane series books and he finished the first series tonight, all 200 pages! Of course this was blog worthy! Go Rafe go!!

Loving her brother!

This little girl LOVES her big brother. She absolutely ADORES him! Lately one of Stella Ross's favorite things to do is get in the bed with Rafe and "cuddle" with him. (although her cuddling is more like face pulling, ear pulling, hair pulling but best of all BIG kisses!) I hope Rafe will always be willing to have his sister in his room. She sure does want to be there!

Rafe's T-Ball Banquet

What a fun night! We are so proud of you!

Rafe and some of his teammates!

Happy Boy!

Go Pirates!

Rafe and Coach Cox

Why is this happening so fast?

I don't know what is wrong with me these days but I am having a VERY hard time accepting the fact that my BABY is about to start kindergarten. I don't know if it is because school is about out for the summer, and I know the next time the bell rings my baby will be there, or the fact that he is turning into such a BIG boy right before my eyes. In the past month Rafe has "graduated" from preschool, received his last "T-Ball" trophy, started flying (not riding) on his bike without the training wheels, taken a HUGE interest in writing and reading very hard books all by himself. Where has the time gone? I look back at his baby pictures and feel like it was just yesterday I was giving him rice cereal for the first time like I am with Stella Ross. I guess before long I will be writing the same things about her. In the meantime I am just going to enjoy this summer with my "baby" before he leaves me for school every day next year. I better get stocked up on boxes of tissue!!

1st Birthday

3rd Birthday (noticing a theme with the icing?!)

4th birthday

5th birthday

My wish for Rafe is that he goes into this next chapter of his life with the "superhero" attitude of conquering anything he puts his mind to. I love you, Rafe.
